Here are some pictures of my baby the day she was born!
Proud daddy:
I remember Lindsey being born like it was yesterday. I know I had started her birth story on her expected due date, so I figured I'd finish it now. I left off at heading to the hospital to be induced Wed. night March 29th around 11p.m. Ryan had come from OH to take me to the hospital. I remember how surreal it felt to walk in to the hospital knowing we'd be coming out holding our baby. I got settled in my room and after a billion questions from the nurse and changing into my hospital gown they started me on the gel. We passed the time playing cards with Nicole while I had some sporadic contractions. I kept getting contractions if I laid in this one certain spot. My midwife arrived early that next afternoon to check on me and I was dilated to a 6. After being up all night she thought it best to start the pitocin to speed this up or I would be too exhausted. I hate IV's, so the next part was pretty awful for me, but the pitocin was started and then the very regular strong contractions followed. I lasted a couple of hours of them turning the pitocin up every half hour, then decided I wasn't sure if I could do this anymore. They gave me Statol, which made me very loopy, but didn't take any ounce of the pain away. Another hour after that I was dilated to 7 cm., I was getting frustrated. My midwife told me to either get an epidural, or have a c-section because I needed some rest. I chose the epidural. Unfortunately after finally getting it in and telling myself I would be able to relax soon, it never worked. The anesthesiologist kept pinching my leg and asking if I could feel it, yes I could, very much so. I kept begging Ryan to tell them they had to fix it, but they left and my midwife checked me again. I was finally fully dilated! Music to my ears, I really thought I could give a little push and she would come flying out. Not so much. I think the total pushing phase lasted about 2 hours, with the midwife doing only her second ever epesiotomy to get her to come out. At 1:29 a.m. March 31st Lindsey Grace Moreau was born, weighing 8 pounds 7 ounces. She had dark hair and bright blue eyes. They put her right up next to me and she was quiet, just looking around checking everything out. At that point Ryan has video taping and was so flustered he called her Lacey, lol. I can't believe it has been 3 years since our firstborn was born. Time flies!
3 years later!
At Chuck E. Cheese for Lindsey's b-day
We wanted to make her actual b-day special even though she already had her party. Ryan took the day off of work. We went to Chuck E. Cheese's for lunch. Then we went to the mall and saw the Disney store, and then to the play area. After her nap Ryan took her to Blockbuster and she picked out "The Little Mermaid" to watch. They made popcorn and had a movie night. I think she enjoyed having her daddy's attention all day! We love you Lindsey Grace, and we're so happy you finally decided to make your appearance to the world 3 years ago!
