Ft. Lauderdale

Ryan and I left for our cruise Saturday, May 16th. My dad drove us down to Detroit, and we flew to Ft. Lauderdale, FL (with one stop in Chicago). The flights were pretty uneventful. We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale around 8:00 p.m. and were starving! We got a cab to our hotel and then we walked around trying to figure out where we wanted to eat. Our hotel was right next to the beach, and it was surrounded by restaurants, bars, and shops. It was very busy. We finally decided on a restaurant called Quarterdecks, it was pretty good. Then we headed back to the hotel and got some sleep so we could get up early to get on our ship the next morning.
Here's the view from our hotel room:

Here's the restaurant we ate at:
Saturday morning we caught a shuttle to the port where our ship was docked and waited in line to get through security and customs. It didn't take too long and then we were on the ship! I'm going to break up the posts and do each day seperately so it's not one huge monster post! Up next will be the first day on the Carnival Freedom and Key West.
