On Friday my friend had mentioned see saw a Circus tent going up on her way to the park near the expressway. A nice man at the park ended up giving us all buy one get one free tickets, so we all decided to go check it out. I've never been to a circus under a tent before, just ones in buildings, so it was a first for me too. General Admission was sold out when we got there so Lee and Jen bought our tickets so that we could all sit next to each other in the reserved seating. Thanks guys! They had elephant and camel rides set up before the show. Lindsey liked watching a lot, but didn't want to go on. We also saw some lamas that Sara liked to get very close to. She's pretty fearless. Then we got some popcorn and headed in to find our seats. Here's everyone munching on popcorn waiting for the show to begin!
Lindsey, Lainey, Lee, and Jen in the background (and Bryson too, but you can't see him)
Here they are watching the elephant rides:

Lindsey really enjoyed the funny clown more this time. She understood the jokes more and laughed a lot. I think the favorite act of the night for my girls were the elephants. They both just stared with their mouths hanging open. It was a nice circus, it only had one ring v.s. 3 at the Shrine Circus, but this was a fundraiser, so it was for a good cause.
The next day we headed to the Johnny Appleseed Festival. We'd never been there, but had been told it's fun! Sara was still tired from staying up late the night before, so she had fallen asleep on the way there. She cuddled with daddy on the shuttle ride from our car to the festival.
Riding on the big shuttle bus may have been Lindsey's favorite part!
The girls throwing rocks in the river:
It was mostly a lot of old fashioned food, games, crafts, etc. It was enormous! We walked around for quite a while and still didn't see it all. We finally found the children's area, and saw this hay maze. Lindsey said she would take Sara through, so we told her not to lose her!
Holding hands going into the maze:
Luckily they came out really close to where they went in, so we knew they couldn't go anywhere. They did it all by themselves:
Then Lindsey wanted to get her face painted:
She really wanted a red heart, it's all she would talk about!
Most of the rest of the time they spent playing on bales of hay, or just walking around looking at everything. It was pretty fun. All the kids' activities were only $.50, so it was a pretty cheap fun day. Ryan bought the girls these old fashioned caramel puffs on the way out so they'd have something to snack on on the way back. We had to go out and wait for the shuttle bus to come back. Lindsey was so tired she laid down in the grass while we waited:
